* All of the old men who run the Catholic Church are in this cover-up together. They all knew what was happening, for decades. It is right to prosecute them. For the church to claim “sensationalism” and “it’s not my responsibility” is disgusting. Sending a few priests and bishops and a pope to prison will go a long way toward forcing the Church to honestly face its immoral and illegal behavior.

Reuters writes (6/2/10) …

  • Archbishop Freiburg, 71, head of the German Bishops’ Conference, was accused by prosecutors of permitting a priest accused of child abuse in the 1960s to be reappointed.
  • The church in Freiburg accused the prosecutors of sensationalism and denied that the appointment was Archbishop Freiburg’s responsibility.
