* Eve Ensler: Sarah Palin is no Feminist

Posted by Lew Weinstein on September 20, 2008

A letter by Eve Ensler, an American playwright, performer, feminist and activist, is making the email circuit. Thanks to Carol for sending it along. Here are some excerpts …

  • I don’t like raging at women. I am a Feminist and have spent my life trying to build community, help empower women and stop violence against them.
  • It is hard to write about Sarah Palin.
  • But everything Sarah Palin believes in and practices is antithetical to Feminism.
  • Sarah Palin does not believe in abortion.
    • She does not believe women who are raped and incested and ripped open against their will should have a right to determine whether they have their rapist’s baby or not.
  • She does not believe in sex education or birth control.

NOTE: If you would like to read the entire letter, post a message asking for it and I’ll forward it to you by email.

Sarah Palin played it safe Sunday and went to the easiest place
in Florida to get a large Republican turnout..The Villages..
An enormous retirement community about an hour North of Orlando.
People waited for hours in 92-degree heat..she spoke for 23 min.
After arriving in Fla. on Fri., and no public events on Sat.,
though she told the crowd her daughters got to go to Disney World…She took no questions from reporters or the crowd…
I am looking so forward to the debates..Maureen, Stuart, Fla.
