* McCain’s insulting VP selection

Posted by Lew Weinstein on August 30, 2008

Some voters may respond to McCain’s VP choice with the expectation or fear that Gov. Palin will appeal to many woman, because she is a woman.

I think this will not happen, particularly if people realize the crass, insulting action McCain has taken.

John McCain needs to be attacked for his desperate effort to pretend that this totally unprepared Alaskan woman is even close to Hillary Clinton. McCain has accused Obama of putting his election ahead of national interests, which Obama has clearly not done. Yet McCain’s choice of VP is a blatant example of exactly that.

Every woman in America should be furious at McCain’s gross pandering of women, an appalling insult to anyone who understands that this unprepared woman could become the leader of the free world, about which she knows next to nothing.

Several articles which expand on the theme that Senator McCain has trivialized the office of Vice President and insulted all of us by his desperate choice are listed in the BLOGROLL.

Please carry this argument forward to your friends.

    Well, it looks like the candidate’s own mother-in-law won’t necessarily vote for her. It still boggles my mind how the Republicans can think that Hillary’s supporters would vote for McCain/Palin solely because she’s a woman. Do they really think that women (and men) would vote for a woman who is ANTI abortion, PRO death penalty (a little hypocritical, don’t you think?) and NRA supporter. Did I forget that she actively supported Pat Buchanan in his presidential run???

    Sarah Palin – The Gift that Keeps on Giving

    According to the Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/) there is some discussion that Palin will not make it to the general election. The evidence just keeps on mounting, ongoing ethics investigation, past support for Pat Buchanan (of all people) for President, 17 year old preganant daughter (interesting that mom this abstinence is the answer), and now rumors that the baby’s father doesn’t want kids. Forcing these two to marry is not a surprise — seems like it was given as much thought as the Republicans gave to Palin as their VP, i.e., little to none.
